Saint-Gobain new owner of Glava AS
On the 14th of June 2017, Saint-Gobain announced that the Group had entered into exclusive talks with the founding families and shareholders of GLAVA AS to buy their shares. Having received the clearance from the Norwegian Competition Authority, the transaction is now complete.
- Saint-Gobain has been working closely with GLAVA for over 80 years through a license agreement from ISOVER; prior to the transaction, we already owned 17 % of the company and were member of the board of directors. Saint-Gobain and GLAVA treasure the same values and share the same passion for our industry and for our customers. We look forward to supporting GLAVA’s development in Norway, says Thierry Lambert, Saint-Gobain General Delegate for the Nordic Countries and Baltic States.
CEO of Glava AS, Jon Karlsen, is very pleased to have an industrial leader like Saint-Gobain as owner.
- Saint-Gobain and GLAVA are two companies that know each other well, and for a long time it has written in the cards that Saint-Gobain would take over full ownership one day. For us it is "business as usual", but the change of ownership will eventually give us the opportunity to further develop GLAVA and to offer more value to our customers, says Karlsen.
Jon Karlsen, in addition of his current role, has also been appointed CEO of Saint-Gobain Byggevarer AS.
